"In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks."

Summer is pure joy. Here in Sonoma Valley, California the sultry days are radiant and full of possibilities. The evenings are enchanting and effervescent.
July in wine country is brimming with festivals, wine-tasting tours, and luscious food.
With all the activities, one of my favorite respites is getting outside and enjoying the sunshine. With a new furry member of our family – I have the best excuse!
One of our favorite walks is along the paved trail in the Sonoma Valley Regional Park, near Glen Ellen, California. Meandering through the landscape is the perfect place to enjoy the quiet of nature and recharge the spirit amongst the mighty oak trees.
This area burned during the 2017 wildfires - it has been truly remarkable to watch the oak woodland regenerate from the ashes over the past several years. The resilience of nature is amazing to witness.
One of the best features of this park, is that the main path is fully paved, ADA accessible, and it's dog friendly! It's the perfect spot to pause in the moment and take in the natural beauty of Sonoma Valley. There are also unpaved trails that are more challenging, that we usually hike during in the cooler months. If you plan on visiting, visit the Sonoma Valley Regional Park website for all the details including day use fees, and an excellent map.
