Are you stumped trying to figure out how to order the perfect size ring? I am here to help. There are three ways that are pretty simple. Two of these require a couple of household items. Let’s explore.
The first way is by measuring the inside diameter of one of your rings that fits well. The diameter is the distance through the middle of the circle as shown in the photo.
Once you have your inside diameter in millimeters (mm), find your size on this chart:
Diameter (mm) | US/CA | UK/AUS | EUROPE | JAPAN | CHINA |
15.7 | 5 | J 1/2 | 49 | 9 | 10 |
16.5 | 6 | L 1/2 | 52 | 11 | 12 |
17.3 | 7 | N 1/2 | 54 | 14 | 15 |
18.1 | 8 | P 1/2 | 57 | 16 | 17 |
19.0 | 9 | R 1/2 | 60 | 18 | 19 |
19.8 | 10 | T 1/2 | 62 | 20 | 22 |
20.6 | 11 | V 1/2 | 65 | 23 | 24 |
21.4 | 12 | X 1/2 | 67 | 25 | 26 |
The second method involves three things: a ruler, a piece of string (or strip of paper), and a sharpie.
First, cut the piece of string to about 3-4 inches. Next, wrap the string around the finger you wish to measure and mark where it overlaps with the sharpie.
Then, take the string to your ruler and measure from mark to mark like in the photo above. This is the circumference of your finger in millimeters, take this number to the chart below to determine your ring size.
Circumference mm | US/CA | UK/AUS | EUROPE | JAPAN | CHINA |
49.3 | 5 | J 1/2 | 49 | 9 | 10 |
51.8 | 6 | L 1/2 | 52 | 11 | 12 |
54.4 | 7 | N 1/2 | 54 | 14 | 15 |
56.9 | 8 | P 1/2 | 57 | 16 | 17 |
59.5 | 9 | R 1/2 | 60 | 18 | 19 |
62.1 | 10 | T 1/2 | 62 | 20 | 22 |
64.6 | 11 | V 1/2 | 65 | 23 | 24 |
67.2 | 12 | X 1/2 | 67 | 25 | 26 |
The final method takes a few days, but is perfect for those folks to don’t want to faff around with the above methods. Order a magic ring sizer from my online store and I will pop one in the post along with instructions.
Now that you have your ring size sorted, have a browse in the ring shop.
